Cardiac Catheterization

Closed-Chain Exercise

An exercise in which the distal end of the extremity is fixed and is in constant conact with a surface. Closed chain exercises involve several muscle groups and joints working simultaneously. Examples include squats, push-ups, tricep dips, pull-ups, leg press, and dead-lifts.
